I was asked to portray a special memory of an impressive sailfish caught on fly rod. I was given a few photos to choose from and decided on the one in the picture. Before starting, I introduced an underwater perspective to show the rest of sailfish creating an interesting composition. I added in a bit of cloud detail to add to the feel of the painting..
